Root, the four things a path can start at - nothing, the file system, a drive or a share - and the text each of them shows as.

Where a path starts. A path without one is relative.

case Unix

/: the root of the file system, and on Windows the root of the current drive.

case Drive(letter: Char)

C:/: one drive, with an absolute path on it. The letter is upper case.

case Share(server: String, share: String)

//server/share: a UNC share.

The text the root shows as, including its trailing separator.
